The Whisper Cinema is a setting between reality and virtual reality where each visitor becomes an accom- plice in a playful border between intimacy and public- ity. By inviting visitors to keep their heads under the fabric, they are confronted with an ambivalent situa- tion that moves between a confessional and a peep- show. Underneath the fabric is a speaker-like opening that connects the two areas of visitor and performer. Through this opening a voice is heard, which speaks to them and involves them in a partly fictional, partly real conversational situation. Sometimes the voice speaks directly and sometimes it is modified, reminis- sent of an automativ voice.
